Responsibilities

The Compliance Nurse (CN) functions as a subject matter expert and resource to staff to facilitate the achievement of meeting State Regulatory Guidelines and organizational (Atria) goals in the area of quality enhancement, resident safety, and regulatory compliance.

 

The Compliance Nurse conducts reviews, analyzes findings, supports corrective action, provides education, and partners with community and regional leaders to promote

and ensure alignment with the organization’s care program and regulatory guidelines.

  • Assist with the identification, documentation, and prioritization of problems and issues affecting the delivery of resident care and overall resident safety
  • Data collection, analysis, and monitoring.
  • Establishment of objective, measurable goals for the PA PCH (Personal Care Home) and/or NJ ALR (Assisted Living Residence)/CPCH (Comprehensive Personal Care Home) to meet/exceed the organization’s quality enhancement program indicators for successful surveys.
  • Audit staff on all shifts for compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the PCH/ALR/CPCH is in compliance with State regulations and organizational guidelines by auditing current processes.
  • Plan, organize, develop, and direct all in-service education in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, in addition to organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform regulatory and quality compliance reviews of assigned communities.
  • Perform follow-up reviews from previous compliance reviews for areas found to be out of compliance.
    • Also known as Plans to Correct (PTC) and Plans of Correction (POC).
  • When applicable, follow-up and assist communities with non-compliance issues found by State Regulatory Surveyors.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable State Regulations.
  • Perform assessments and reassessments as required to determine resident needs and establish appropriate service plans in collaboration with community based and regional team members.
  • Adapt to changing schedules and community needs.
  • Complete New Jersey quarterly infection control audit.
  • Facilitate PA State Required Medication Technician training and recertifications
  • Manage communication seamlessly across a variety of platforms to keep community and regional leadership informed.
  • As needed, provide training to community department directors and staff
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey, Pennsylvania or another state within the Nursing Compact.
  • Willingness to obtain PA Administrator Certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Willingness to obtain PA Medication Train the Trainer Certification after 6 months of employment; as soon as eligible.
  • Willingness to obtain CDC Infection Preventionist Training within 6 months of employment.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in a director or management position.
  • Must be able to develop Microsoft Word and Excel files to utilize for reviews and follow-up.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Federal, New Jersey and Pennsylvania state regulatory guidelines.
  • Be willing and capable to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Position requires driving responsibilities and will utilize your personal vehicle with a mileage reimbursement.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Must satisfactorily meet Atria’s motor vehicle policy standards.
